Overview
Pastore Peak, standing at 6,209 meters (20,365 ft), is one of Pakistan’s most renowned peaks, attracting climbers and adventurers from across the globe. This expedition combines the thrill of summiting Pastore Peak with a breathtaking trek to K2 Base Camp and an unforgettable return journey over the Gondogoro La Pass.
The K2 and Gondogoro La trek is often regarded as one of the world’s finest trekking experiences. Along the way, you’ll encounter iconic landmarks such as the Trango Towers, Masherbrum, Gasherbrums, Broad Peak, and the majestic K2. The route traverses the famous Baltoro Glacier and leads to Concordia—aptly named the “Throne Room of the Gods” for its unparalleled 360-degree panorama of towering 7,000-meter peaks and awe-inspiring views of K2.
The adventure begins in Islamabad, Pakistan’s lush green capital city. Upon arrival at Islamabad International Airport, your guide will greet you and transfer you to your hotel for some well-deserved rest. Later in the day, you’ll attend a briefing about the trek. The next morning features a scenic flight to Skardu, where you’ll catch your first glimpses of Nanga Parbat, K2, and other Himalayan and Karakoram peaks. Skardu serves as the gateway to Baltistan and offers a serene environment to finalize preparations for your journey.

Itinerary
Upon arriving at Islamabad International Airport, your guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and recovering from your journey. Most international flights arrive in the morning.

Take a domestic flight from Islamabad to Skardu (PK-451), offering stunning aerial views of Nanga Parbat and K2 on clear days. Spend your afternoon exploring Skardu town or resting. If weather conditions prevent flying, you’ll travel by road to Chilas (480 km; approximately 13–14 hours) along the Karakoram Highway.

Complete the remaining road journey from Chilas to Skardu (275 km; approximately 10–11 hours). Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of Nanga Parbat at the confluence of the Indus River with its dramatic rapids and waterfalls.

Spend a free day in Skardu completing official formalities and making final preparations for your trek. You can explore local attractions such as Khurpucho Fort or browse through Skardu Bazaar for souvenirs.

Your adventure begins with a jeep ride from Skardu to Askoli village (8–9 hours; approximately 20 km). From Askoli, continue onward to Jhula campsite where you’ll spend your first night under the stars.

Embark on a challenging trek (16.6 km; approximately 6–7 hours) with undulating terrain leading to Paiyu campsite. Along the way, enjoy views of dramatic mountain landscapes and spot wildlife tracks near Tamarish trees by streams flowing down from Paiyu Peak.

Spend a day acclimatizing at Paiyu while porters prepare supplies for higher-altitude trekking. Enjoy short exploratory hikes around camp or join porters for evening celebrations with singing and dancing.

Continue trekking along Baltoro Glacier’s southern edge (approximately 8–10 hours). Marvel at iconic peaks like Trango Towers and Uli Biaho as you ascend towards Urdukas campsite—a stunning but heavily trafficked site perched above the glacier’s lateral moraine.

- Trek through Goro II (4,050m) with views of Masherbrum and Muztagh Tower.
- Reach Concordia (4,650m), where glaciers converge amidst towering peaks.
- Visit Broad Peak Base Camp (5,150m) and K2 Base Camp (5,135m).
Spend these days acclimatizing and climbing Pastore Peak (6,209m), enjoying panoramic views of surrounding mountains.
Retrace your steps through Concordia and Ali Camp before crossing Gondogoro La Pass (5,585m). Descend toward Hushe Valley via Saicho village.
Drive back to Skardu for debriefing and a farewell dinner before returning to Islamabad for sightseeing or shopping on your final day.
